Denver Art Museum Painting Featured on Christmas Stamp

First, the new building. Now, a Christmas stamp featuring the Chacon Madonna & Child from the Denver Art Museum collection is on sale at a US post office near you.

The painting is part of the of the Engracia and Frank Barrows Freyer Collection of Peruvian colonial art at the Denver Art Museum. The oil painting with gold filigree, by Peruvian artist Ignacio Chacon circa 1765, is titled Madonna and Child with Bird.
