Snow Cover Approaches Record of 63 Days
Tuesday February 13, 2007
If you've forgotten what grass looks like in Denver, you're not alone. After almost two months of snow on the ground, Denver is about to break the record of 63 days of snow cover. The winter of 1983-1984 set that dubious record.
As of today, snow has lingered on the ground for 55 consecutive days, the third-longest stretch on record. The second-longest strech was 60 days, set in the winter of 1913-1914. If you do the math, that means only eight more days to go for a record-breaking winter!
