The adage "Spring forward, fall back" helps everyone remember how to set the clocks for daylight saving time. However, daylight saving time this year occurs even before the first day of spring on March 21. Tomorrow, March 11, marks the beginning of DST. Set your clocks forward one hour beginning on 2 a.m. Sunday.
The Energy Act of 2005 moved daylight saving time back three weeks beginning this year in 2007, and also extended it one week later in the fall. The resulting four weeks of extra daylight saving time is calculated to conserve 10,000 barrels of oil in the U.S. by reducing the need for energy. From now on, daylight saving time will begin on the first Sunday of March and end on the first Sunday of November.
Not sure what do with that whole extra hour of daylight?
