Two athletes from Boulder have been named to the Olympic triathlon squad. Laura Bennett, 33 and Matt Reed, 32, have both won one of six coveted spots on the U.S. Olympic team. Bennett hails from Florida originally, while Reed is a native New Zealander. Both triathletes now reside in Boulder. Bennet was a champion swimmer for Southern Methodist University, while Reed previously raced for the New Zealand triathlon team. The triathlon consists of a 2.4-mile swin, a 112-mile bike, and a 26.2-mile run.
