State Capitol Goes Solar

Monday November 17, 2008
All that glitters is not gold any longer at the Capitol, as crews installed two solar panels on the west and south sides over the weekend. The photovaltaic panels will be hooked up in December to generate electricity for the building's lighting system. The Governor's Mansion went green earlier this year with the installation of solar panels and a geothermal heat pump.
