The city of Glendale, Colo., has canceled its fireworks display that was slated for 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3. A message on the city's website said the fireworks were canceled "due to the heightened fire danger throughout the area." A notice of the cancellation also appeared at Glendale businesses such as Target.
However, the Civic Center Conservatory still plans to show fireworks on Tuesday, July 3 in Civic Center Park in Denver. Christina Beisel, the program and operations manager for the nonprofit, confirmed today that the fireworks show will go on as planned. The fireworks are part of a free "Independence Eve" celebration that starts at 8 p.m. and features a concert by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.
