Beat the heat in August with events such as the Drench 5K, held on Aug. 19 in Denver's City Park. Other outdoor events include the second-annual Viva Streets, which closes off 23rd Avenue for cyclists and other fitness fans on Aug. 12. The eagerly-anticipated "The Book of Mormon" arrives in town on Aug. 14, but if you don't already have tickets, you're out of luck. The musical from the creators of "South Park" is sold out for all performances during its run in Denver through Sept. 2.
