Five of Denver's 16 public swimming pools will stay open for two weeks longer this year. "With how hot and dry this summer has been, and continues to be, we are really excited we can keep these five outdoor pools open for two extra weeks," said Lauri Dannemiller, Manager of Denver Parks and Recreation, in a statement. "This is something we know our residents will be able to take advantage of as the summer winds down." The five pools that will stay open until Aug. 26 include: Barnum, Berkeley, Congress, Eisenhower and Mestizo pools. The rest of the pools will close on their originally-scheduled date of Aug. 12.
