Denver #10 Worst-Selling Housing Market
Sunday April 27, 2008
There are some top-ten lists Denver doesn't want to be on, and this is certainly one of them. A new study from Forbes Magazine ranks Denver as the 10th worst-selling housing market in the U.S. A perfect storm of foreclosures and overbuilding led to the Mile High City's current inventory of 21,756 unsold homes. The median price of a house in the Denver area also declined 6.3% from last year. Other cities making the list include Baltimore, San Diego, and Chicago. Miami had the dubious distinction of the #1 worst-selling housing market, with an inventory of 81,613 unsold homes and a 5.7% price drop from the previous year.
