Snowy nights in Denver don't have to mean sipping hot chocolate in front of the TV. There's plenty of activites in the Mile High city to warm up a winter's evening. For holiday events, make sure to visit the Twelve Days of Christmas and the Eight Nights of Chanukah.

  • First Friday Art Walk
    Date: Friday, Dec. 1
    Location: Santa Fe Art District, 5th to 10th Ave. on Santa Fe Dr.
    Time: 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
    What: Free admission to art galleries along Santa Fe Dr. A free shuttle will be provided this month and in Jan. due to the cold weather.

  • Free Day at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield
    Date: Friday, Dec. 1
    Location: Chatfield, 8500 Deer Creek Canyon, Littleton
    Time: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
    What: Free admission for Colorado residents.

  • 36 Hours of Keystone
    Date: Friday, Dec. 1 - Saturday, Dec. 2
    Location: Keystone Resort
    Time: 9 a.m. Friday - 9 p.m. Saturday
    What: Ski all night at Keystone resort, which will be open 36 hours straight for the die-hard skiers and boarders.

  • Sweet Charity Opening Night

    What: Molly Ringwald (yes, THE Molly Ringwald of "Pretty in Pink" fame) stars as a hopelessly unlucky romantic in this musical showing from Dec. 5 - 13.

    What: The botanic gardens springs to life with more than one million lights in the winter.

  • Zoo Lights Display
