Halloween, Broncos and the Arts

October brings the first Denver Art Week, as well as the opening of the Artisans & Kings exhibit at the Denver Art Museum. Sports fans won't be disappointed either, as there are three (count 'em, three) Broncos home games. Also be sure to check out Halloween Events for spooky events in the Mile High City.

  • Ringling Bros. Circus Opening Night
    Date: Thursday, Oct. 4
    Location: Denver Coliseum
    Time: 7:30 p.m.
    What: The circus comes back in town through Oct. 14.

  • Denver Art Week
    Date: Friday, Oct. 5 - Friday, Oct. 12
    What: The inaugural Denver Art Week celebrates the arts in the Mile High City.

  • Free Day at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield
    Date: Friday, Oct. 5
    Location: 8500 Deer Creek Canyon Rd., Littleton
    Time: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
    What: Free admission for Colorado residents.

  • Oktoberfest
    Dates: Friday, Oct. 5 - Sunday, Oct. 7
    Location: Between 20th and 22nd on Larimer St.
    Time: 5 p.m. - 1 a.m. Fri., 11 a.m. - 1 a.m. Sat., 12 noon - 6 p.m. Sun.
    What: The annual German celebration of beer and bratwurst hits the Mile High City for its second weekend.
    Cost: Free admission.

  • Artisans & Kings: Selected Treasures from the Louvre
    Dates: Friday, Oct. 5 - Sunday, Jan. 6
    Location: Denver Art Museum, 100 W. 14th Parkway
    What: Treasures from the Louvre Museum in Paris such as paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens and Titian are on display.

  • First Friday Art Walk

  • "Le Corsaire" Opening Night
    Date: Friday, Oct. 5
    Location: Ellie Caulkins Opera House, 1101 13th St.
    Time: 6:30 p.m.
    What: The Colorado Ballet opens the season with pirouettes and pirates on the high seas. The show runs through Oct. 14.

  • Great American Beer Festival

    What: More than 400 breweries will be offering their wares for thirsty connoisseurs.

  • Maroon 5 Concert
