Labor Day weekend in Denver offers a variety of events. Get in touch with your chakras at the Celebration Metaphysical Fair or or in touch with your more earthly appetites at the Taste of Colorado. Outside the city limits, the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo features Foreigner, while Jazz Aspen Snowmass showcases Michael Franti and Spearhead.

  • A Taste of Colorado
    Dates: Friday, Sept. 4 - Monday Sept. 7, 2009
    Times: 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. Fri., 10:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. Sat. & Sun., 10:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. Mon.
    Location: Civic Center Park
    What: The 25th annual event at Civic Center Park draws foodies from around the city to sample Denver's finest restaurants. Musical acts include the Robert Cray Band and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies.
    Cost: Free admission. Food tickets are $5 for a strip of eight.

  • Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Festival
    Dates: Friday, Sept. 4 - Sunday Sept. 6, 2009
    Time: Doors open at 5 p.m. Fri., 2 p.m. Sat. & Sun
    Location: Snowmass Village
    What: Michael Franti and Spearhead headline the annual music festival in the mountains. Other performers include the Black Eyed Peas, Elvis Costello and the Doobie Brothers.
    Cost: Tickets are $54 - $74 per day.

  • Celebration Metaphysical Fair
    Dates: Friday, Sept. 4 - Sunday Sept. 6, 2009
    Time: 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. Fri., 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sat., 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sun.
    Location: Denver Merchandise Mart Expo, I-25 & 58th Ave.
    What: The Metaphysical Fair features seminars on chakras, Native American astrology and healing meditation.
    Cost: Admission is $5 per day, or $13 for all three days. Readings are $20 and aura photos are $15. Some workships also charge a fee.

  • Colorado State Fair
    Dates: Friday, Aug. 28 - Monday, Sept. 7, 2009
    Time: Grounds are open 10 a.m. - 12 midnight every day
    Location: Colorado State Fairgrounds, Pueblo
    What: Foreigner plays at the fair on Monday, Sept. 3. at 8 p.m. Fiesta Day on Sunday, Sept. 6 includes a parade and crowning of the Fiesta Queen.
    Cost: Admission to the fair is $5 Mon. - Thurs. and $8 Fri. - Sun. Concert tickets are $15 - $25.

  • Colorado Rockies vs. Cincinnati Reds
    Date: Monday, September 7, 2009
    Time: 1:10 p.m.
    Location: Coors Field
    What: The Rockies and Reds do not get a day off for Labor Day. The first 10,000 adults will receive a free Coors tote bag.
    Cost: Tickets are $4 - $55.
