Labor Day weekend in Denver offers a variety of events. Get in touch with your chakras at the Celebration Metaphysical Fair or or in touch with your more earthly appetites at the Taste of Colorado. Jazz Aspen Snowmass also merits a drive to the mountains for headliner John Legend, or you can stay in town and catch a Rockies game.

  • Taste of Colorado
    Dates: Friday, Aug. 31 - Monday Sept. 3
    Times: 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. Fri., 10:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. Sat. & Sun., 10:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. Mon.
    Location: Civic Center Park
    What: The annual event at Civic Center Park draws foodies from around the city to sample Denver's finest restaurants. Music, arts and crafts, and kids' activities also are on tap for the Taste of Colorado.
    Cost: Free admission. Food tickets are $5 for a strip of eight.

  • Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Festival
    Dates: Friday, Aug. 31 - Monday Sept. 3
    Time: Doors open at 5 p.m. Fri., 2 p.m. Sat. & Sun, 12 noon on Mon..
    Location: Snowmass Village
    What: Ben Harper and John Legend headline the annual music festival in the mountains. Other performers include Joss Stone, the Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule.
    Cost: Tickets are $53 for Friday, $56 for Saturday, $56 for Sunday and $48 for Monday.

  • B. B. King Blues Festival
    Date: Saturday, September 1
    Time: 8 p.m.
    Location: Red Rocks Amphitheatre
    What: Al Green and Etta James join B.B. King at Red Rocks.
    Cost: Tickets are $49 - $89.

  • Colorado Rockies vs. San Franciscio Giants
    Date: Monday, September 3
    Time: 1:05 p.m.
    Location: Coors Field
    What: Now's your chance to cheer (or boo) Barry Bonds. The San Francisco Giant made headlines for breaking Hank Aaron's home-run record, amid allegations of steroid use.
    Cost: Tickets are $4 - $47.

  • Denver Tango Festival
    Dates: Wednesday, Aug. 29 - Monday Sept. 3.
    Locations: Cheesman Park, Mercury Cafe
    What: Dance the night away at the Cheesman Park Pavilion at the Denver Tango Festival. Most workshops are for advanced dancers, but the "Introduction to Tango" classes are perfect for beginners. The "Introduction to Tango" takes place Friday, Aug. 31 at the Mercury Cafe from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
    Cost: Tickets are $5 for "Introduction to Tango." Tickets for advanced workshops range from $60 - $140.

  • Celebration Metaphysical Fair
    Dates: Friday, Aug. 31 - Monday Sept. 3
    Time: 2:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Fri., 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sat., 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sun.
    Location: Denver Merchandise Mart Expo, I-25 & 58th Ave.
    What: The Metaphysical Fair features seminars on chakras, Native American astrology and healing meditation.
    Cost: Most seminars are free, but keynote presentations are $20 and featured workshops are $10.
