The Museum of Contemporary Art, founded in 1996, moved into its new home in October 2007. Built by British architect David Adjaye, the three-story museum boasts green construction that uses 40 percent less energy. The rooftop deck also features an eco-friendly garden, as well as a cafe overlooking the former rail yards near Riverfront Park.
The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver presents an eclectic mix of photography, new media and modern art. Unlike most art museums, MCA Denver does not have a permanent collection, but instead devotes its five exhibition spaces to traveling installations.
