School's out, and your kids are already driving you crazy. Here's a sampling of area summer day camps to harness all that excess energy. All camps listed are coed with full-day programs.

  • Avid 4 Adventure
    If your kid is a miniature adrenaline junkie, sign them up for adventure camp that includes rock climbing and kayaking. Cost is $325 per week for the full-day camp from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. for ages 7 -12. Half-day camps for ages 5 - 6 are also available for $175. Dates and locations are listed below.

  • Camp Invention
    A week-long adventure into the heart of invention for children entering grades 1 - 6. Cost is $199 for the week from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Dates and locations are listed below.

    Jun 18 - June 22: Westerly Creek Elementary

  • Denver Botanic Gardens Day Camp
    Dig into a weeklong camp at the Botanic Gardens for children ages 6 - 14. Cost is $209 members for the week, or $229 for non-members. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Dates and sessions are listed below.

    June 25 - 29: Junior Master Gardeners (ages 8 - 12)
    July 9 - July 13: P.S.I.: Plant Science Investigators (ages 12-14)
    July 23 - July 27: KidCamp at the Gardens (ages 6 - 12)
    July 30 - August 3: KidCamp at the Gardens (ages 6 - 12)

  • Denver Chess Camp
    Checkmate for ages 6 - 18. Cost is $349 for the 5-day camp, or $239 for the 3-day camp. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Dates and locations are listed below.

  • Denver Fencing Center
    En garde! Teach your child how to take out their aggressions in a civilized manner through fencing. Cost is $300 for the week, or $260 for Denver Fencing Center members. Camp hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Dates and sessions are listed below. All ages welcome.

    June 11 - June 15: Beginner Foil/Epée Camp

  • Denver Museum of Nature & Science
    Camps for younger children are mostly full, but the museum still has space available for grades 4 - 6. Cost is $200 per week for members or $225 for non-members. Camp hours are 9 a.m. -3:30 p.m. Dates and sessions are listed below for camps with space available as of May. Scholarships available.

  • Denver Summer in the Park Camps
    The City of Denver offers an affordable option for summer camp for ages 6 - 12 at select Denver parks. Cost is $50 per week. Camp hours are from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Dates and locations are listed below. Scholarships available.

    June 11 - August 3: Bible Park at Yale and Quebec
    June 11 - August 3: Clayton College at 38th and MLK Blvd
    June 11 - August 3: Congress Park at 8th and Josephine St.

  • DU Pass Camp
    The University of Denver plays host to budding athletes from ages 6 -12 with the Pioneer Athletic Super Summer camp. Cost is $189 per week for DU affiliates or $209 per week for non-members. Camp hours are 8:15 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Dates and locations are listed below.

  • iD Tech Camps
    If you can't pry your kid away from the Xbox, why not send them to summer camp for video game creation? Ages 7 - 17 can take classes in video game design, computer programming, and other techie delights in this week-long camp held at the University of Denver. Cost is $729 per week. Camp hours are 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Mon. - Thurs. and 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Fri. Dates and locations are listed below.

  • Rocky Mountain Theatre Camps
    Theater camp sessions run for two or four weeks, and culminate in a performance for the aspiring actor in your life. Cost varies from $595 for the two-week sessions to $1135 for the four-week sessions. Camp hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
