About the Denver Museum of Nature & Science:

Formerly known as the Natural History Museum, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science offers educational fun for all ages. The Museum was founded in 1900 by Denver naturalist Edwin Carter. Today, the collection houses more than one million objects from around the world.

Permanent collections include the popular Hall of Life on level two, which allows visitors to measure their overall physical fitness. The Egyptian Mummies on level three also contains two sacophragi from 3,000 years ago.

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Museum is closed on Christmas Day.

Admission:
General Museum admission: $10 adults, $6 children (ages 3-18) and seniors (65+).
IMAX Theater tickets: $8 adults, $6 children and seniors.
Special exhibitions also require additional tickets, although prices vary by the exhibit.

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is located in the heart of City Park. From I-25, exit on Colorado Blvd. and head north on Colorado Blvd. until you see the museum on your left. Parking is free.

  • The Anschutz Family Sky Terrace features a panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains from Longs Peak to Pikes Peak. On a clear day, you can see 200 miles in the distance.
