Your mom spent many years flipping flapjacks for you -- or at least, pouring cereal and milk in a bowl. Return the favor by taking mom out to brunch for Mother's Day. From French fare at Le Central to nouveau Mexican at Lola, Denver's diverse restaurants offer many choices to make mom happy. Mother's Day this year falls on Sunday, May 12, 2013.

1. Dazzle

Dazzle your mom with live jazz performed onstage by the Julie Monley Quartet, while you mellow out in the dining area with omelets made to order and a top-notch brunch buffet. For an additional cost, you can add on all-you-can-drink mimosas and bloody marys. Brunch is served from 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., with live music from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Reservations are required.

2. Ellyngton's at the Brown Palace

The Dom Perignon champagne brunch at Ellyngton's at the Brown Palace will pamper mom with carving stations, seafood selections  -- plus a pour of premium champage. The historic Brown Palace hotel downtown has housed many of Denver's elite since its construction in 1892, and continues the tradition of luxury, with prices of more than $100 for the Dom Perignon brunch. Reservations are required.

3. Le Central

French fare at reasonable prices makes Le Central a favorite spot for le brunch in Denver. Le Central will be offering a special Mother's Day brunch menu with crepes, omelets -- and of course, French toast. Reservations are required.

4. Snooze

Trendy moms can enjoy the hipster ambience at Snooze in LoDo, featured as a favorite brunch spot on "Real World: Denver." The popular eatery also opened two more locations, one at 700 Colorado Blvd. in Denverand one at 6781 S York St. in Centennial. Indulge your sweet tooth with Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, or dig into several delicious varieties of eggs benedict. Not the best choice for moms on a diet, however, as low-calorie options are limited.

5. Jelly Cafe

The Capitol Hill eatery is giving Snooze a run for its money as hippest breakfast joint in town. Jelly makes its donut holes in house, which come filled with your choice of jelly or other fillings. Jelly also offers a twist on old favorites such as pancakes and biscuits and gravy. Gluten-free items are available on the menu. Be prepared for a wait. Jelly recently opened a second location at 700 East Evans Ave. in Denver.

6. Zaidy's Deli

Zaidy's Deli is the perfect choice for moms who prefer good, honest deli food. Zaidy's features standbys such as potato latkes, cheese blintzes and corned beef hash. The smoked fish platter with lox and smoked sable is perfect to share with mom. Zaidy's now has one location in Cherry Creek after shuttering their downtown outpost.

7. WaterCourse Foods

Vegetarian moms will savor the menu at Watercourse Foods in City Park, which also includes gluten-free options. The buckwheat pancakes are surprisingly good -- despite being healthy for you. Watercourse Foods serves breakfast all day from 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Sundays.

8. Washington Park Grille

The Washington Park Grille, or Wash Park Grille for short, will please the palate of traditional moms. Homemade waffles, carving stations and of course, eggs benedict, round out the upscale breakfast buffet choices. Mother's Day brunch is served from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. for $28.95. Reservations are required.

9. Lola

Show mom the world at Lola, which has one of the best views of downtown Denver from the patio of the Highlands eatery. The Mexican restaurant's brunch menu features American classics such as chicken and waffles, as well as Latin-inspired favorites such as lobster green chile omelet. Brunch is served from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on weekends.

10. Lucile's Creole Cafe

Lucile's Creole Cafe has several locations in the Denver area, and offers breakfast favorites with a Creole kick. Try the Eggs New Orleans for a spicy take on Eggs Benedict, and don't forget to start off the meal with beignets. Lucile's does not accept reservations.
