How will the Democratic National Convention 2008 affect me as a Denver resident?

By , About.com Guide

Question: How will the Democratic National Convention 2008 affect me as a Denver resident?
Answer: Even if you're not attending the convention, the increased traffic at the Pepsi Center will affect Denver residents. The city is encouraging drivers to take public transportation during the week of the convention. Denver Public Schools considered delaying the school year by a week to avoid the convention traffic, but decided to keep the first day of school on Aug. 18, 2008 as originally scheduled.
