Recycling computers and electronic equipment in Denver can be done with a small dose of determination. Most recycling centers are located in industrial areas of the metro area and charge a small fee for services. Many recycling centers are open on Saturdays, and offer pickup of equipment for an additional fee.
Recycling computer equipment benefits the environment because e-waste contains hazardous materials such as lead, mercury and other heavy metals. Next Generation, Inc. charges 20 cents a pound for computers, PDAs, cell phones and a wide range of other electronic equipment. TVs cost $1 per inch for both residential and business customers. The recycling company can also pick up items for a fee.
