Westminster is a northern suburb of Denver that can be reached from I-36. More than 100,000 people live in Westminster, and many commute to Denver or Boulder for work while enjoying Westminster’s more affordable home prices.

Demographics:

Westminster is home to 108,710 residents. The median home costs $225,000, while $600 covers the average rent. The population is 69% white, 15% Hispanic, 6% Asian, 2% African-American, and 8% other.

Restaurants :

The Westminster Promenade features a 24-screen movie theater and many restaurants, including Dave & Buster’s and Rock Bottom Brewery. Other restaurants include:

  • C.B. & Potts Big Horn Brewing at 1257 W. 120th Ave. features microbrews and pub fare.
  • Marie Callender’s at 6030 W. 92nd Ave. specializes in pie, pie and more pie.
  • Amici’s Ristorante at 7727 W. 92nd Ave. offers homemade spaghetti and pizza.

    Schools:

    The city of Westminster is served by three school districts, two in Adams county and one in Jefferson county.

    • Major high schools include Westminster High School at 4276 W. 68th Ave., Standley Lake High School at 9300 W 104th Ave. and Mountain Range at 12500 Huron Street.
    • Colleges in Westminster include DeVry University, Front Range Community College, and the University of Phoenix.

      Grocery Stores, Etc.:

      • Wal-Mart Supercenter Store at 9499 Sheridan Blvd. Is open from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. every day.
      • If you need a food fix in the middle of the night, King Soopers at 10351 Federal Blvd. is open 24 hours.
      • Compass Bank has a branch with a 24-hour drive-through ATM at 7347 Federal Blvd.

        Other Attractions:

        • The Butterfly Pavilion at 6252 West 104th Ave. houses more than 12,000 free-flying butterflies.
        • The Standley Lake Recreation Area features a lake and numerous walking trails.
        • The Bowles House Museum at 3924 W. 72nd Ave. takes you back 100 years to historic Westminster.
