Guide Review - Lime XS Restaurant in Denver
The restaurant's interior, painted white with lime accent walls, makes the best of a small space. However, the tables can be a bit crowded if there are more than two people eating together. Lime XS also features a patio, but it unfortunately faces a noisy street.
The extensive drink menu lists many flavors of margaritas and mojitos, both of which are offered by the glass and the pitcher. Tequila shots are served in fresh lime halves, an entertaining novelty.
The menu also featured some novel takes on traditional Mexican food. Lime XS adopted the traditionally Japanese edamame, and spiced it up with dipping sauce. The chile rellenos proved delicious, as did the sweet corn tamales. The only disappointment was the unremarkable steak fajitas.
As for dessert, the key lime pie struck exactly the right note of tangy sweetness. The brownie sundae, however, was served with canned peach slices, which did not add much to the experience.
Lime XS receives high marks for its service, as the wait staff proved both patient and efficient. A minor inconvenience is that Lime XS does not accept reservations, except for large parties. Overall, Lime XS is a welcome addition to the Denver dining scene.
