Colorado residents can take advantage of reduced rates for skiing or snowboarding by purchasing season passes for the 2012 - 2013 season. Most passes display a photo of the pass holder, and all passes are non-transferable. The passes are open to state residents only and require a Colorado ID.

Pass rates go up as it gets closer to ski season, so buy early for the steepest discounts. The passes must also be purchased before ski season begins. This year, the Epic and Summit passes have expanded to include Kirkwood Ski Resort, which is located near Lake Tahoe, Calif.
