When you file the form to claim the credit, you must send in a paper return because you have to attach the invoice for the car. Although you can’t e-file to claim the hybrid tax credit, you can still opt for direct deposit to receive your refund more quickly.
The amounts below represent the maximum tax credit available, which is limited to your tax liability. For example, if your Colorado tax bill is $1,000, the maximum credit you can take would be $1,000. However, you can carry forward the credit for up to five years.
